How to choose the school

April comes soon and schools will be taking documents from future pupils. Prudent parents do not wait until the last moment, and get known beforehand what actually is going inside school doors.
Choosing the school you should ask yourself, what results are you looking for? For one family it is important, that a child was erudite, had mush knowledge on various subjects. Other parents wish, that their heir had a high level of general knowledge. When the choice of priority is made, begin the selection of specific educational institution.
There are a few simple advices which will help you move in the right direction. You may often hear that its not a school, but teacher, that you should choose. But general atmosphere at school is not less important.
Therefore the advice is to go round the object of your research around. If young smokers stand on the porch of the building, and teachers pass by, it means, that teachers don’t wish to interfere in their upbringing.

How to educate a creative child

It seems, carrying with formal education of the child, we completely forgot about a creative side of educations, about creative development. That it is not yet late to do it. Especially as creation is not only superfluous but compulsory condition of comprehensive development of a human being. After all, all sorts of designers and artists are in great value now.
General researches of the last years in area of brain physiology proved, that the increased amount of different activity in music and painting helps children in mastering mathematics and languages. The American scientists proved, that children from four to seven years, lagging behind in children garden due to the increased activities in art caught up with reading and have better abilities in mathematics.
Swiss and Austrian researchers introduced music classis instead of mathematics and languages for children from seven to fifteen years. In three years time these children showed the same level of mathematic knowledge as those, taught on plain program. Languages progress of this group of children was even higher, than of those, who devoted much time to language studies.
Painting develops speech skills. Learning forms of objects, colors and their shades promote extension of vocabulary; discussions develop connected speech. In brief, engagement in creative work supports education.

However, it is the opinion of psychologist Marina Nechaeva that computer games are not the only reason of this dependency: «Privacy in other reality where the player is the owner, and not the subordinate calms, gives self - confidence; in fact he (she) needs to prove anything to nobody. The lacks of attention, interest, indifference of associates are the reasons, which are necessary to understand before “treating” the dependence. Then you should find out a character of games. Does your son play shooting? It means he is most likely restrained in a daily life. Talk to teachers, he probably does not maintain friendly relations with his schoolmates. Does your son play logical games? You are lucky; he has a mathematical turn of mind. He probably studies at the wrong school. On the whole, attachment is not an illness, it is a symptom. It is important to find out the first cause. So, you should distract relatives and friends from a habit “to leave”.

The deterioration of physical health is the result of spending a lot of time in front of the monitor besides mental and psychological problems of the gamers. Numb of limbs and spinal curvature are usual diseases of gamers. To help an organism, experts advise:

    do not put hands and a wrists on a table while typing;
    do not straighten wrists and a hands during typing;
    take a recess each 5-10 minutes;
    eyes should be at the same level, as the middle of the monitor;
    as soon as your eyes redden and hurt, stop gaming and don’t spend much time at the computer for several days.

I cannot divert my 12-year son from a computer. First he only wrote letters to friends, and now plays games from dawn up to decline. Admonitions, requests, threats do not help. I even had tried to take away “the toy”, however I had to return it after his hysterics. My son sleeps less and less, but his studies become worse and worse. What’s happened to my son? What can I do to distract him from a computer?

SUCH questions are raised by relatives of 600 thousand people. There are so many people dependent on computer games in Russia. They spend in front of the monitor from 20 to 50 hours a week. These people, in opinion of the experts, are lost for the society, do not create families and ruin their health. It has also appeared the research where symptoms of the illness are described: the bad mood, the reduced activity, deterioration of state of health down to the depression, the increased level of anxiety. The dependence on games is considered, to be shown much faster, than smoking, drugs, alcohol, an average term of its formation is half-year — year. The actuality of the problem is proved by opening the clinic (first in Europe) for people dependent on virtual games in Amsterdam this year.

Everybody draws (Part 2) How to make a stencil

If the child will express a desire to draw out a picture which he or she likes, do not deprive his or her of this pleasure. Help him (her) to do it by means of a lid, carefully attached to a sheet. Draw out an outline and the basic characterizing features (in any case the result will be enough stylized stencil but, everybody will undoubtedly recognize it). Certainly, the help of the adult for cutting out a figure by means of the chopping-knife will be required. A firm hand and the certain skills are necessary here. I advise you to lay under the future stencil a cardboard or something firm (for example, a kitchen board) for cutting it out.

By the way, do not hurry to throw out the picture cut out, it can also be used as a curve and, draw out a contour of it you can receive any image of an animal or a bird.

So, the stencil is ready. It is possible to leave children with pencils, a paper and stencils to create a picture and to enjoy the hobbies… And it is possible to play at a lesson of drawing with them and to receive a lot of pleasure and colourful figures.

Lesson of drawing for the whole family

Are you still full of energy? Then cut a household sponge into sections (do not forget a part for yourself), take paints (gouache, water color) and, using the stencils, create! Pay attention of the children to the way of drawing of animals: a back is usually dark, a tummy is lighter. Try to reproduce strands of wool using a brush. Let the kid improvises and draws everything, which comes to his or her mind, what is pleasant and enjoyable for the child.

If the child can express the feelings and emotions in figure, it is a gift of which it is possible to dream only. But small children do not frequently have enough patience and skills to make their creation recognized! The word thoughtlessly thrown by adults can ruin a creative impulse, and the kid will consider a drawing process to be a difficulty, and he or she will think that he or she is unable to do it…

The child studies to comprehend that we, adults, already can and know. Certainly, we feel the necessity to support and encourage the kid when he or she does not manage to do something at once. The stencil is exactly that convenient thing which will help the child to be fond of drawing.

Process of creating a picture by means of a stencil will not certainly substitute the lessons of drawing and improvisation. But the pictures executed with its help will force he or she to believe in his or her skills to draw and will make the child happy. And the most important thing is that the stencils will help children to develop moving activity of hands, will learn to hold a pencil correctly, use it skillfully.

Children grow up and try to become more and more independent of the adults. The task of parents is to see a positive feature in the formation of their child’s character. Mothers and fathers should be guided by their wisdom and life experience instead of prohibitions and personal fears.

A child will fall down from the bicycle until he or she learns to “be in the saddle” with the confidence. It is a usual thing for little riders. A protective helmet will help your child to avoid a lot of problems and injuries. It will be very well to think of a safety of a young bicyclist from another point of view: how will be a young bicyclist seen as a moving object from a car’s window? How is he or she perceived by a driver of a car?

So in a modern society children are learned that any person has a right to be in safety: teachers at schools tell children about traffic rules, children draw traffic signs, think of their meanings. Parents patiently describe the rights of crossing the public roads to their children. However it is very important to pay attention to the safety of your children especially during the summer holidays.

A bicycle for young fidgets (Part 1)

It is so hard to be at home in summer. Such wonderful season seems to be created for active rest. Rides by bicycle together with the parents and more often without them are the ways of time spending of boys and girls. Everything is in our hands. And it is very important to organize these outings in the yard and public roads in a right way. Then the parents will have much less causes for anxiety and children will avoid unnecessary annoying reminders.

Parents get used to a serious attitude to the procedure of buying a bicycle considering this process to be the most important. It is quite evident, that a bicycle must be acquired in accordance with a height of a child. It is rather inconveniently to ride by as high as low bicycle. When we buy a bicycle for a child of under school age we pay attention to a comfort and practicalness. Next bicycles execute other functions. And we can say that in this case those bicycles which have special devices of changing the speeds are necessary.
